Hunting Trip To Japan With KFK

Well... you never know what you'll get when you released your camera's shutter. One day i took this picture. This is the picture of butterfly that currently taking a pee. Such a rare moment. In other occasion i submit this picture into http://kfk.kompas.com. It is a weekly photo contest in KOMPAS, the five chosen picture will be printed in KOMPAS Tuesday editon in a one page topics Klinik Fotografi Kompas. Lucky me this picture was chosen. All the selected photos will be judged every 6 month to win a hunting trip to special place, could be in Indonesia or other country. In this period, the winner will get the prize Hunting trip to japan. And lucky me, my photos was one of the nominee and selected winner as best photo.

Well, i never imagined that i can win the prize, but here i am. Wandering around with my camera in Japan for 3 days with other 2 winner and accompanied by senior KOMPAS photographer Arbain Rambey.

Snowden Photography Competition is a photo competition about mining industry and its activities with total prize AUS $20.000. The competition is held by Snowdengroup yearly, and the topic is "Celebrating Mining Industry". For those who love photography and work in mining industry should join this photo competition.

The masterpiece was photo of slag loading activity in Slag Dump Hill in operation area of PT INCO, a nickel mining company.

This is one of the scene in Sendratari Ramayana Art performance. Shinta, Rama and Leksmana went to the Dandaka Forest. Suddenly Shinta saw a charming gold deer, Kidang Kencana. Shinta wanna have that gold deer and ask Rama to catch the deer for her. Rama went to after the gold deer. Before he had gone, Rama asked his brother Leksmana to take good care of Shinta when he was away. Leksmana did the job but Rama had gone for quite long time, this made Shinta worried. She asked Leksmana to look for Rama. Actually Leksmana didn't agree with this idea, he didn't want to disobey his brother. But Shinta insisted. Finally Leksmana left Shinta alone, but before he left, Leksmana draw a magic circle around Shinta to protect her from any danger and harm from outside the boundary.

Ramayana Art Performance

If you come to Yogyakarta, don't forget to see art dance performance called Sendratari Ramayana in Candi Prambanan. Candi Prambanan lies in the east side of Yogyakarta, it takes only 30-40 minutes driving from central of Yogyakarta. You can drive a car or just take a bus from Yogyakarta to Solo, and stop in Candi Prambanan that lies in the left side of Jogja-Solo street. For those who loves art, surely will love this performance. The epic stories of Ramayana was choreographed beautifully in series of dance. The story of Ramayana itself tells about the love journey of Rama-Shinta and the struggling between the good and the evil Rahwana.

Recently i watched the indoor performance of this dance last December 2009. I' paid IDR 125.000 for special seat right in front of the art performance. I think the best view to watch this performance is in the front of the stage. For ticket reservation you can call the agent at (0274) 496408. In this post i will share the picture I've taken and the plot stories of Ramayana Dance performance that I've read from the brochure.

INTRODUCTION

Prabu Janaka, the King of Mantili Kingdom has got very beautiful princess named Dewi Shinta. A competition is conducted in order to decide who will be th right person to marry Dewi Shinta. The prince of Ayodya Kingdom, Rama Wijaya at last wins the competition. Prabu Rahwana, the ruler of Alengkadiraja Kingdom is eager to marry Dewi Widowati. After knowing Shinta, he assumes that Dewi Shinta is the incarnation of Dewi Widowato whom he is wanting for along time.

DANDAKA FOREST
Rama Wijaaya, the princ e of Ayodya Kingdom along with his wife Shinta accompanied by his younger brohter Leksmana is adventuring until they arrive in Dandaka forest. Meeting shinta in the place, Rahwana becomes eager to posses her. In order to realize this idea, Rahwana orders one of his followers named Marica to change himself as a Golden deer called Kijang Kencana so as to attract Shinta. Being interested in the beauty of the deer, Shinta asks Rama to capture the deer for her. Rama leaves Shinta and start hunting the deer.

After waiting for a along time, Shinta become nerveous as Rama has not arrived yet. She asks Leksamana to look for Rama, before leaving Shinta alone, Leksamana draws a magic circle on the ground to protect her from any possible danger. As soon as Rahwana notice that Shinta has been left alone. Rahwana tries to kidnap Shinta but he falls because the magic circle. Then he changes to be an old beggar. As soon as Shinta gets out from the magic circle to give a hand to the beggar, He takes her and fly her to Alengka Kingdom.

RUNNING AFTER THE DEER
Rama shoots the deer with his magic arrow, but the deer commutes to a giant (Marica). A war breaks between Rama and Marica. Rama shot Marica wit his arrow. Later on Leksamana arrives and requests Rama back to Shinta's place.

THE KIDNAP OF THE SHINTA

On the way to Alengka, Rahwana meets a bird named Jatayu. After noticing that Shinta is the princess of Prabu Janaka, Jatayu attacks Rahwana in order to escape Shinta, but he is defeated by Rahwana. After finding out that Shinta is not in her previous place, Rama and Leksamana decide to search Shinta, later on they meet seriously wounded Jatayu. Rama thinks it must be Jatayu who has kidnapped Shinta. Rama decided to kill him but Leksamama prevents him to do so, Jatayu explains waht has happennned to him then he dies.

A momemnt later, a white monkey named Hanuman arrives. He is delegated by his uncle, Sugriwa to look for two heroes who can kill Subali. Subali is a sacred man and has taken Dewi Tara, Sugriwa's beloved woman by force. Rama decides to help Sugriwa.

KISKENDO CAVE
When Subali, Dewi Tara and his son are chatting, Sugriwa arrives. WIth the help of Rama, Sugriwa attacks him. Subali is defeated by Sugriwa and takes Dewei tara with him again. Sugriwa decides to help Rama to look for Shinta. For this purpose, Hanuman is sent as envoy to Alengka Kingdom.

AGRASOKA GARDEN
Rahwana's niece, Trijata is comforting Shinta in the garden. Rahwana arrives and asks Shinta's willingness to be his wife. Shinta refuses to do so. This make Rahwana angry and wants to kill her, but Trijata prevent and said that he should be patient and Trijata promises to look after Shinta. It was when Shinta is very sad that suddenly she becomes started to hears a beautifull song which is sung by Hanuman, the white monkey. Hamunman tells his purpose to escape her, and this duty is ordered by Rama. AS soon as he explains the purpose Hanoman starts to find out the total power of Alengka's army. The he destroys the garden. Indrajid, Rahwana's son capture him. Kumbakarna prevents, be he is thrown out of the kingdom. Hanuman is sentenced to be burnt alive. Hanuman with fire arround his body burn out Alengka palace.

RAMA'S BRIDGE
After delegating to Hanuman, Rama and his ape troops go to the sea and make a bridge for running to Alengka. When the bridge is finished. Hanuman comes and reports about the Alengka's situation and its troops power. Receiving the report, Rama is very happy and commands Hamunman, Hanggada, Hanila and Jembawan to lead the troops attack Alengka.

THE TOTAL WAR
When giants troops of Alengka are in their guard at their country boundary, the are suddenly attacked by the ape troops. Therefore a big war betwwen them. In this war Indrajid is killed by Leksamana. Kumbakarna, the younger brother of Rahwana died as a patriotic hero. After the death of Kumbakarna, Rahwana finallay become the commander of the Alengka troops to face Rama. In this war Rahwana was killed by Rama's arrow and Hanunma drips the mount of Sumawana on Rahwana.

THE MEETING OF RAMA AND SHINTA
After the death of Rahwana, SHinta, accompanied by Hanuman, meets Rama. Rama refused to accept her as he considers Shinta is not pure anymore. In order to prove her purity Shinta burns herself. With the help of God of fire, Shinta is saved from the fire, her proof make Rama happy and finnaly accepts Shinta.

How to check shutter Count DSLR Camera

We are still talking about shutter count. In this article i would like to share how to check Shutter Count of Nikon Camera and Canon EOS Series. Usually we can check shutter count of camera by analyzing EXIF data of last image captured by the camera. We can use Opanda, or other EXIF software. An exception for Canon EOS series, exif data of image from Canon EOS series didn't store information about shutter count number. For this case we can't analyze the image, we need to connect the camera to laptop or PC and using EOSInfo we can check the shutter count number.

How to check Shutter Count of Nikon DSLR ?
For example i will use an image form Nikon D80. Other type of Nikon series are similar. There are two thing we need here before checking the shutter count of Nikon DLSR.

Original image fresh from camera (JPG)
EXIF viewer software, in this case we will use Opanda Iexif 2 that can be downloaded freely in here

Please remember to analyze original image from camera only, image that has already processed in image editor software can't be used. The steps to check shutter count of Nikon DSLR camera as follow:

Install Opanda Iexif2
Open Opanda Iexif2

Open original image fresh from camera

Scroll to the bottom and look for "Total Number Releases for Camera"

And the total number of shutter releasese for camera are 2963

How to check Shutter Count of Canon EOS series (Canon EOS 450D)

For example i will use image from Canon EOS 450D. In this case we didn't need any picture from camera, we just need a software to analyze the shutter count of the camera. There are several software that can be used. I prefer to use EOSInfo, the software can be dowloaded here (only 1.15 MB). After installation, connect the camera to PC or laptop and run Canon EOSInfo.

We can see that the shutter count of this camera was 15,832

Shutter Count Canon EOS 450D, 1000D, 400D

I bought Canon EOS 450D in September 2008, current shutter count of my camera was about 15,832. When I tried to find standard Shutter Count for Canon EOS 450D in the Canon website, I didn't find any statement related to Shutter Count. But lucky i found the data survey of Shutter Count Camera. From the survey, average number was 12,286 for shutter died. Well, my camera has already passed the average Shutter life time based on this survey. However, the highest number of Shutter Count was 53,220. Still hoping for the best, based on this survey the survival estimation for this camera to reach 53,220 was 78 %. Well, it is still promising percentage I guess :).

Chart For Canon EOS 450D

As comparison i took the data of Canon EOS 1000D bellow. Wow.. amazing the average number of actuation after which shutter is still alive was 166,396. And the maximum click was above 5,000,000 (is it possible?). But if we look to the detail data above 50,000 only 5 data. Well, maybe this data is not valid, because this survey was taken from volunteer from internet, and there is no data verification, anybody can participate in the survey, just input the data. If we eliminate the data above 50,000 then the Shutter Count for Canon EOS 1000D will be similar to Canon EOS 450D.

Well, lets see the oldest brother of EOS XXXD series, which is Canon EOS 400D. The data should be more reliable as this camera is much older than Canon EOS 450D or Canon EOS 1000D. Hemm 28,552 Shutter to die. He he not too bad.

About Shutter Count DSLR

What is Shutter Count?
Simply, Shutter Count stated the number of shot that we've taken using our camera. When we press the shutter release button actually we added one number Shutter Count in our camera.
So why is so important?

Actually it's not so that important, but it's good to have knowledge about Shutter Count. By having this knowledge we will aware how many Shots taken since the first time we use the camera. It's like a milestone in
our photography learning session. The more photos we take, should have better image quality we get. Many people also saw Shutter Count as parameter representing life time of camera. Actually this opinion is not absolutely true. Indeed Shutter Count has a life time, but we still can replace it with new Shutter Count when it's broken. Even though, this information is very important for those who want to buy camera in used condition. You'd better check Camera Shutter Count before you buy used camera.
What will be happen when shutter count is run out?
You can't release the shutter. Sometime the shutter hanging in a half of photo frame, you'll get a half dark photo in the top. When it's happening, you should change your Shutter.
So How Many Shutter Count Maximum We got?

It's difficult to answer. Different camera will have different number. Usually camera vendor will give shutter life approximation in their product press release. For example for Nikon D300, the camera's shutter mechanism is tested up to 150,000 cycle. See here for Nikon D300 press release. Unfortunately i didn't found for Canon product press release. They did't say anything about Shutter Count life. But we can conduct a survey on DSLR user and asked them their camera Shutter Count. Lucky we are, some people has already did the job. Wait for the next posting.

Sebuah pemandangan di Pantai Ide Sorowako. Saat langit cerah, anak-anak bermain-main di danau. Loncat dari atas panggung ke Danau. Untuk membekukan gerakan peloncat setting menggunakan speed tinggi 1/1000 detik, itupun ISO dipush ke angka 400. Alhasil gerakan bisa terhenti dengan relatif sempurna. Cuma pada bagian muka peloncat sedikit terlihat shadow. Mungkin dengan speed 1/800 detik, muka yang didapat bakalan sedikit lebih terang.

Signature Dengan Watermark

Untuk membuat identitas foto selain dengan frame dan signature kita bisa membuatnya dengan watermark. Salah satu situs yang menggunakan watermark untuk menandai foto-fotonya adalah Kilinik Fotografi Kompas. Berikut contohnya:

tulisan Klinik Fotografi Kompas di sudut kanan bawah dibuat dengan watermark.

Pembuatan watermark ini sangat sederhana. Prinsipnya kita cuma mengurangi 'opacity' dan atau 'fill in' layer yang ada textnya sampai kelihatan transparan tapi masih memungkinkan untuk dibaca. Tidak sampai 3 menit untuk olahannya.

Berikut beberapa langkah-langkanya:
1. Buka image yang akan dibuat watermarknya
2. Dupplicate image untuk melindungi file aslinya (kita bekerja pada file dupplicate)

3. Buat layer baru, klik 'Text Tool' dan ketik pada layer baru

4. Klik Menu layer style dan pilih pada blending options

5. Pada Layer style, check mark pada Inner Glow, Outer Glow dan Bevel and Emboss

6. Atur Opacity untuk menimbulkan kesan transparan

Dan akhirnya kita mendapatkan sebuah water mark di foto kita. Semoga bermanfaat.

Sebuah foto pemandangan di sekitar dermaga Danau Towuti, Sulawesi Selatan. Foto diambil sekitar jam 08:08 pagi. Waktu itu suasana langit sedikit berawan dan mendung. Kondisi air di danau memang sedang surut, kita bisa turun ke pinggiran danau di dekat area perahu-perahu nelayan yang sedang ditambatkan. Berhubung kondisi langit kurang bagus, aku pakai filter Tian Ya Grad Sunset dan GND 8 untuk mendapatkan efek warna kuning yang hangat. Area filter yang lebih pekat di pasang pada bagian kiri untuk membuat gradasi dari kiri ke kanan.

Post processing di photosop dilakukan untuk membuat frame dan enhance sharpeness, leveling dan gradation masking dengan blending mode screen.

Tips Memilih Tas Kamera DSLR

Tas kamera merupakan salah satu asesoris wajib dalam fotografi. Model dan mereknya bermacam-macam. Masing-masing model punya kegunaan sendiri. Fungsi utamanya sebenernya adalah untuk membawa body kamera, lensa dan beberapa asesoris saat kita hunting. Cuma kadang saat kita berpergian jauh, kita butuh tas kamera yang bisa membawa laptop sekalian. Kadang saat jalan-jalan di alam bebas, kita butuh tas kamera yang ringkas dan memudahkan kita untuk mengambil kamera secepatnya jika ada momen yang lewat didepan kita.

Secara ringkas berikut beberap tips dalam memilih tas kamera DSLR
1. Pertimbangkan kapasitas (bukan cuma kapasitas sekarang)
Jangan beli tas yang telalu kecil, soalnya biasanya asesoris fotografi akan nambah seiring waktu kita berkreasi dalam fotografi. Petimbangkan kapasitas tas yang kita butuhkan kira-kira satu tahun ke depan.Pertimbangkan juga kebutuhan pada saat traveling jauh antar kota. Kadang kita butuh tas kamera yang bisa sekalian untuk membawa laptop.

2.Pilih yang ada Raincoat bag-nya
Raincoat bag sangat penting untuk melindungi barang-barang dalam tas dari hujan dan air.

3. Jika budget terbatas bisa mencoba customade/handmade bag
Handmade/customade bag bisa juga dipertimbangkan jika budget kita terbatas. Banyak usahawan-usahawan kreatif yang bisa membuat tas kamera dengan model dan kulatias yang cukup bagus dengan harga terjangkau.
Share saja... berikut beberapa jenis tas kamera yang pernah aku pakai. Praktis tas yang pertama tidak terpakai lagi karena dulu waktu beli tidak mempertimbangkan kapasitas tas kamera yang dibutuhkan di masa depan. :)
l. Lowepro EX 180

Tas ini cukup kecil, ringan dan praktis. Body Canon EOS 450 D + Kit lense, sebuah lensa tele Canon EF-S 55-250 dan fix lense EF 50 mm f/1.8 bisa muat dalam tas ini. Ada satu kompartemen juga untuk menaruh asesoris-aseoris kecil seperti remote atau filter.

Harga relatif lebih murah sekitar Rp.300.000, bisa dicek JPC kemang (Lowepro EX-180). Masalah mulai timbul saat aku beli Batterai Grip (vertical grip).Kamera dan lensa sudah tidak bisa masuk dalam tas ini. Akhirnya saat nambah BG/VG nambah juga beli tas.

2.Lowepro Slingshot A200

Tas slempang model slingshot ini kelebihannya adalah sangat mudah dipakai. Sangat mudah untuk berubah dari mode 'stand by' ke mode 'ready shoot'. Cocok untuk traveling dalam kota sambil bersepeda, atau traveling di alam bebas.

Untuk masalah kapasitas, tas ini bisa memuat 2 Body DSLR dan beberapa lensa. Bahkan Body DSLR yang menggunakan BG/VG masih muat dalam tas ini. Lensa EF70-200 L pun masih bisa muat dalam tas ini.

Unuk melindungi dari hujan tas ini juga dilengkapi rain coat yang ada dibagian bawah tas. I'm pretty happy with this bag. Tapi saat mau traveling jarak jauh biasanya sedikit kerepotan. Karena biasanya laptop juga pengen ikut dibawa. Kalau bawa satu tas laptop dan satu tas kamera bakalan ribet banget. Harga tas ini sekitar Rp 725.000 di JPC kemang. Untuk cek harga bisa dilihat disini (Lowepro Slingshot A200)

3. Komputrekker 15'4 made in USA (Urang Sunda Aseli)

Tas made in USA alias 'Urang Sunda Aseli' ini cukup murah dan kuat. Model sama persis dengan Lowepro Computrekker Plus dengan harga sekitar 1/4 nya.Harga di JPC kemang untuk Lowepro Computrekker Plus AW sekitar Rp. 1.759.000. Sementara harga tas made in USA ini hanya Rp 355.000. Untuk masalah kualitas cukupan lah. Banyak penghobi fotografi yang menggunakan tas ini. Kalau budget tidak jadi constrain tentunya Lowepro asli lebih direkomendasikan. Cuma kalau untuk budget yang terbatas tas bikinan bandung ini cukup memuaskan.

Tas ini memiliki 3 buah kompartemen utama. Satu kompartemen untuk laptop 15'4 inch, satu kompartemen khusus kamera yang bisa digunakan untuk 2 buah DSLR dan beberap lensa tele dan satu kompartemen yang bisa digunakan untuk menaruh dokumen ukuran A4 atau sekedar satu dua kemeja. Pas dipakai untuk traveling jarak jauh :)

Tas custom-home made ini dibuat oleh seorang usahawan dari Bandung. Dikenal dengan nama Yogha. Untuk info jelasnya bisa buka disitusnya http://usahaku.info/.

Selain tas-tas diatas masih banyak model-model tas lowepro lainya, bahkan merek-merek yang lain juga banyak. Cuma secara garis besar mungkin modelnya terbagi jadi 3 buah diatas. Frame dan Signature Dengan Photoshop

Untuk memberikan identitas pada foto digital yang telah kita buat, ada baiknya kita beri frame dan signature pada foto digital kita. Frame akan membuat foto tampak lebih rapi. Signature selain menandai foto kita, dapat mencegah terjadinya penyalahgunaan foto oleh orang-orang yang tidak bertanggung jawab. Signature bisa kita letakkan diluar foto yaitu pada frame atau dipasang didalam foto tapi dibuat seperti watermark sehingga tidak mengurangi keindahan foto.
Untuk pembuatan frame dengan photoshop sangat mudah, tidak sampai 3 menit. :p

1. Buka fileUntuk melindungi file asli sebaiknya kita duplicate dulu image yang akan kita edit. Kilik image dan duplicate. Selanjutnya kita bekerja pada duplicate image, bukan image aslinya.

Saat sebuah foto atau image dibuka di photoshop, hanya ada satu buah layer yang berisi gambar tersebut, dan posisinya sebagai background. Jika dilakukan editing pada layer background ini dan disimpan, nanti akan langsung tersimpan sebagai JPG file dan tidak ada file PSD yang dihasilkan, kecuali background ini kita ubah dahulu menjadi layer. Bisa langsung double klik pada tulisan 'background' pada layer pallete. Dalam pembuatan frame ini kita tidak perlu mengubah background menjadi layer baru.

2. Ubah Ukuran Canvas - dan Pilih Warna Putih

Klik image - Canvas size - isikan berapa panjang frame yang didinginkan. Perkirakan kira-kira 10% dari pixelterpanjang atau menyesaikan dengan ukuran gambar. Check mark bagian 'relative', dan pilih warna putih.

Jadinya akan seperti ini (ada frame warna putih diinggir foto).

4. Sesuaikan lagi ukuran canvas dengan cara yang sama, tapi dengan warna hitam

Klik Image di menu bar- Canvas Size - untuk tinggi ubah 20 persen lebih tinggi, dan untuk lebar isikan 2 persen lebih lebar. Pilih warna hitam dalam canvas extension color. Tambahkan tulisan dengan text tool pada bagian frame hitam.

Lomba Foto : Potret Pendidikan Indonesia

Due Date : 30 November 2009

Sampoerna Foundation bekerja sama dengan fotokita.net mengadakan lomba foto bertajuk Potret Pendidikan Indonesia. Lomba dibagi untuk 2 kategori, Kategori Wartawam (Profesional) dan kategori Umum (amatir). Objek foto harus memperlihatkan gambaran aktivitas pendidikan di indonesia. Secara spesifik subjek harus berisi paling tidak guru, siswa atau aktivitas belajar mengajar. Dan secara spesifik lagi foto-foto siswa SD tidak diperbolehkan. (Kenapa Yah??)

Menariknya lomba foto ini sangat mudah diikuti, kita tinggal daftar dengan komunitas fotografi ini. Setelah mendaftar kita diminta untuk klarifikasi. Selanjutnya kita sudah menjadi anggota dan bisa ikut semua lomba yang diselenggarakan di fotokita.net, termasuk lomba foto Potret Pendidikan Indonesia ini.

Setiap peserta boleh meng-upload sampai 10 foto. Ukuran foto maksimal 300kb, dengan panjang minumum 800 pixel dan maksimum 1000 pixels. Batas akhir pengumpulan foto tanggal 30 November 2009, penjurian akan dilakukan tanggal 1 Desember 2009 dan pengumuman pemenang tanggal 3 Desember 2009.

Pemenang setiap kategori akan mendapatkan satu buah voucher belanja di JPC Kemang senilai Rp 10.000.0000 dan langganan NGI gratis selma setahun. Lumayan bisa untuk beli Canon EOS 50D body only (tinggal nambah sedikit). Selain itu ada paket berlangganan majalah NGI selama enam bulan ditambah uang tunai dengan nilai total Rp 800.000 bagi 38 foto terbaik pilihan dewan juri.

User review of this lens, will be available soon, Insya Allah. I have got this lens when i bought Canon EOS 450D one year ago. Nothing special about this lens, i'm planning too make photo comparison between this lens and other prime lens.

Panning Technique Using Photosop

Real panning technique is little bit tricky. Normally we shoot at shutter priority mode, using AI servo focus mode and multiple burst/continuous shoot. Shutter speed is adjusted according to object speed. Before we release shutter, we pointed camera on moving object and move the camera following the object movement. Trust me it's tricky. We need to do trial and error to get the correct speed. And among many shoots there's will be one or more great panning picture.

This is an example of panning picture.

You can see camera setting bellow. I used shutter speed priority and AI servo mode, with 1/20 second. I pointed the camera to the object and move horizontally the camera along the object movement.

There's other alternative creating a panning picture, which is using Photoshop. Just very simple. All we need just a simple sharp image that we want to 'adjust' to panning picture and a few click in this dark room software.

For example this is the picture of Haul Master that carried hot slag came out from smelting process in furnace.

I've tried to make panning picture of this subject. But many obstacles, this is not ordinary place for hunting and taking picture. Quite dangerous and hot here. I took this picture from high angle, and it made more difficult. After some trial i still didn't get satisfied picture.

Well, then i went home and put it in Photoshop and the picture become like this. :)

What i have done just very simple.
1. Dupicate the layer.
Layer 0 : Layer for motion blur effect
Layer 1 : Layer for the object detail

2. Apply Motion Blur Filter on Layer 0
Put the pointer in layer 0. Go to 'Filter', 'Blur' and choose 'Motion Blur'

3. Make a Layer Mask In Layer 1
Put the pointer in layer 1. Go to Layer-Layer Mask and choose Reveal All. Put the pointer on mask in Layer 1 (not in the layer but on the mask layer), then click brush tool, and brush on the area outside Haul Master Detail

Just patiently brush in the area outside Haul Master on Layer mask, and there we go, we got a panning picture.

Welcome to PhotoClinics. This is the place for me to share what I've learned about photography, especially in digital photography. I'm just a beginner amateur photographer. I said 'beginner' because actually i have just hold my camera for 1.5 years. I dare to call my self amateur photographer as i spend some of my spare time capturing photos, enhancing photos and exploring some online photographers community. And i did it for hobby.

I also join a photographer society in the place where i live in now. I just learned that i get some knowledge about photography from people around me who loves to share a lot. That's why i want to share too. I want to keep remember what I've learned by writing and sharing. And i guess blogging is the best way. I also need a place to share my photos and to get some feedback form others who loves photography. I have no specific educational background in photography, therefore i self-learned photography by an experiment and trial-error. That's why i need to get some feedback.

The words 'Clinics' usually used for a place to give medical treatment. I hope PhotoClinics can be used as a place to give 'medical' treatment for photos, Examining photos, correct/fix photos, and enhance it.
